Calling all chess enthusiasts—young and seasoned alike! The New Jersey Chess Club is thrilled to announce our inaugural Morristown Open and Scholastic Tournament, a USCF-rated event designed to challenge, inspire, and celebrate the chess community. Whether you're a budding prodigy or a seasoned player, this is your chance to compete, learn, and take home some serious bragging rights (and trophies!).
🔹 Scholastic Sections (Grades K-12)
Format: 5 Rounds (Swiss) | Team Event!
Sections: K-3, K-5, K-8, K-12
Time Control: G30;d5
🏆 Prizes:
Trophies for 1st and 2nd Place in each section
Medals for 3rd Place
Team Glory! The top team in each section wins a 1st Place Team Trophy (teams of 3-5 players; top 3 scores count).

Early Registration (Online): $42 (ends 3 days before the event)
On-site (Late): $50
Team Sign-up: Just $5 per team—pick a creative name and bring your A-game!

Open Section: $250-$150-$100 | U2000 Prize: $75 | U1800 Prize: $50
U1600 Section: $100-$75 | U1300 Prize: $50 | U1000 Prize: $50
