THE NEW JERSEY CHESS CLUB ANNOUNCES THE 2026 NEW JERSEY SUMMER SCHOLASTIC CHAMPIONSHIP

MORRISTOWN, NJ — May 15, 2026 — The New Jersey Chess Club (NJCC) is proud to announce the 2026 New Jersey Summer Scholastic Championship, a one-day tournament that will crown the next generation of chess champions from across the Garden State. The event will take place on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at the Morristown Masonic Center, located at 39 Maple Ave., Morristown, NJ 07960.

The championship is a single-day, high-intensity competition designed for scholastic players from kindergarten through 12th grade. NJCC has set a minimum registration target of 120 competitors, each vying for the title of New Jersey Summer Scholastic Champion and the right to be recognized as a leading young mind in New Jersey chess.

Event Details:

This championship represents a critical milestone in our mission to build the strongest scholastic chess ecosystem in the Northeast,” said a NJCC representative. “We are calling on every school, club, and family to bring their best players. A minimum of 120 competitors will battle for the Crown of New Jersey, and we expect nothing less than a fierce, unforgettable day of chess.
